Luciana was raised at home in Rome through her father and mother. Luciana's dad was Manlio Paoluzzi an Italian military officer. Her mother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was at one time Benito Mussolini's lovers. It's not clear if there were any siblings. Luciana graduated from a high school in the local area in 1955. She then was a student of naval engineering at Milan in the Scientific Academy of Milan. Luciana, the only female in her class, was the first graduate.
